GPOYW – 22 weeks! I can’t believe I’m over the halfway mark. Just a few weeks ago, I was feeling the slightest flutters and wondering if that could be the baby. Now, she’s kicking like a champ. Sometimes, I can feel her move from one end of my belly to the other and when I’m laying down in the morning, I can feel her snuggle up against one side with all of her might.
She responds to sounds and touches and it really feels like we’re developing a relationship with our daughter (holy crap, we get to say daughter!). The other day, Charlie was being particularly active so Conor laid his head on my belly and started talking to her. I could feeel her move right under Conor’s face where she proceeded to give him a couple of hard kicks. Yep, our baby kicked Conor right in the face. I wonder if that means she likes him or if she was trying to tell him to shut his trap. I think she was just giving him kicks of love.
GPOYW – 21 weeks and wearing my husband’s shirt (thanks, Conor!).
Although, Charlie will be a summer baby, I figure I should start knitting some winter gear now while I still have the time. She’ll be 5 or 6 months with the cold weather hits so clearly, old enough to want some cute winter accessories. Ok, maybe her mama will be the one accessorizing. Here are a few items on my knit list for Charlie:
Norwegian Baby Hat – When Conor and I were in Iceland, ALL of the babies were wearing these cute hats. I knew that our babies would be wearing them too.
Miitens – These are just so silly and adorable. I kind of want an adult version.
Trail Cap – Every baby needs a little bit of whimsy in their life.
Poncho – I wouldn’t be caught dead in a poncho but I’d put my baby in one in a heartbeat. I can just imagine throwing this over her on chilly mornings. This also has the potential to grow with her. I’ll wrap her up in it next winter and the following fall, it’ll make a great transition item.
